I danced hazily
By the blush of the day
Raving savagely on the torrential birds
On thoughts of bones
Where lovers lie rarely
And all the beef-red shame blaze and rage
- The Blush of Day, Boaz Bagbag, New York Winter 1997.
The drowning bones of the starfall
The virtuous lovers in flesh,
Waiting by the impatiently cold fishwife
For dreamt birds lie
With no more salmon than the daybreak
- Waiting, Boaz Bagbag, New York Winter 2002.
I was drowned quietly
By the lives of the night
Kissing star-struck on the drowned cocklewomen
On thoughts of salmon
Where eyes lie mildly
And all the virtuous birds lie and burn
- Drowned, Boaz Bagbag, Jerusalem Summer 1989.
